Year 9 Food Technology is a quadmester 9 week course introducing students the overall concepts of Food Technology, skills, equipment and ingredients.
In year 9 we develop a food concept and suitable packaging using the design thinking process.
Students are taught about food hygiene, food safety and care for the equipment. Practical cookery is a large component of this course.
This gives students the opportunity to be exposed to the basic knowledge and skills in Food Technology.
Year 10 Food Science Technology HALF Year (10FTNH)
Food Technology is a specialist area of Technology from Year 9-13. This course splits into two option lines in Year 11: Hospitality (Unit Standards - more skills based and follows a vocational pathway and Food Science (UE Achievement Standards - more academically based)

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery$60 - These are course costs, not donations, as the students directly benefit from the materials used and take away the final products they create.
