Course Description

Pre-requisites

Students have studied 11PES/11OED/11SDE and gained under 14 credits.


The aim of this course is to give students a broad foundation of knowledge in the areas of Physical Education and Health Promotion through theory and practical based learning. It has been designed for those who genuinely enjoy being physically active but do not wish to undertake the more academically rigorous 12PES course. This course offers a range of practical opportunities to succeed.

This course will be an advantage to those students who intend to go onto study the Level Three SES course and those who wish to follow the MIT pathway and/or prepare for the workforce in a PE/sport context.

This is a full time yearlong course of four periods a week. The students will undertake study achievement standards chosen from the NZQA recommended lists. This course will be run at a comfortable pace for each student to maximise learning and ensure achievement.

This course leads onto the 13SES course which is accompanied by MIT.

$195 to cover practical opportunities such as Paradice Ice Skating (Social Responsibility), Blastacars (Risk Management Strategies), specialist coaches, transport and staffing of trips.
