Year 9 Social Studies (9SOS)

Year 9 Social Studies explores topics from Geography, History, Politics and current social issues. This subject is designed to stimulate curiosity and imagination. Students will develop general knowledge, literacy and research skills, while also developing important capabilities, including collaboration and communication, critical and creative thinking and global leadership.  

As a core subject in the Junior Curriculum, Social Studies allows students to explore a key part of their identity – Tūrangawaewae - their place in the world.
