Course Description

Pre-requisites

Students must have 14 credits from 12MATS including passing the assessment for 2.12 Probability Methods and 2.9 Inference.  At least one of these results must be at Merit level or higher.


The 13 MAS course offers 20 credits at Level three. It consists of three Internal assessments, one compulsory and one optional external assessments. The compulsory Internals and external standards have a total of 16 credits. This course also offers an opportunity for subject endorsement and is a UE approved subject. The course offers Statistics standards. This course prepares students for their chosen pathway and/or tertiary level Statistics courses.

Note: All assessments are done on Google classroom. Students also need a scientific calculator for this course. For the external probability distribution standard, a graphics calculator (fx-9750 GII or fx-9860 GIII) is highly recommended.

There is a $50 course fee that covers the subscription to Education Perfect, which is our e-learning platform, NZGrapher, and Walker Math workbooks. Students must have their own graphics calculators and 1E5 Quad books.
