Pre-requisites

Minimum of 60 credits at Level 1 or HOD approval.


Year 12 Tourism is designed for students planning a career in the tourism industry. Students will learn about the essential skills and knowledge necessary to work in the tourism industry. Students will have the opportunity to meet with people in the industry, attend courses and internship opportunities in the school holidays to experience how the tourism industry operates behind the scenes. 

Topics include:

Tourism Destinations

- World Tourism Destinations and Destination New Zealand

Business of Tourism

- Knowledge of the Internet, Performing Calculations and Read and comprehend work related documents

Work Roles in Tourism 

- Work Roles and Customer Service

Credits: 24 Unit Standard Credits
