Teacher in Charge: Mr B. Singh.
Year 10 Sports Humanities encourages students to actively learn about the implications of sport in relation to people, place, and culture. This is done through exploring elements of the Social Sciences, and through understanding current social issues.
Learning through the Sport in Education programme helps students to learn using sporting contexts and philosophies, while fostering a team environment in the classroom. Alongside this, students are learning to develop skills in literacy, research, collaboration, communication, sports leadership and how to actively participate in our wider community.
The capabilities that we will be explicitly assessing through 10SHU are Collaboration and Creative Thinking.
Owing to teachers responding to individual students' needs, courses and NCEA standards taught in a subject maybe different to those displayed.
