Year 9 Strengthening Literacy (9STL)

9STL is designed to meet the needs of students who find reading and writing a challenge. The course is based on building comprehension skills and understanding language features. Reading is done every lesson to support this. We also work on developing writing skills, looking at how to structure ideas, develop paragraphs and how to edit and improve work. The aim is to build confidence in literacy so that students can have success in their time at Howick College.
