Course Description

The course consolidates the skills gained in Level 1 French. By the end of the course, students will become comfortable interacting with native speakers and will be able to use language variably and effectively to express and justify their own ideas and opinions. Topics studied may include:
Theme 1: Identity and Culture
• Yesterday and Today Family
• The media in our life
• Health and Wellbeing
Theme 2: Travel and Global dimension
• Travel and Holidays
• Festival and traditions
• Film study
Theme 3: The Future
• Future Plans
• Life styles
During the year, students have one exam as practice for the NCEA external standards, as well as working towards the grades of two internal assessments.
This course runs subject to sufficient student interest. However, the school offers the course by correspondence if necessary.
Pre-requisites
An Achieved grade in each achievement standard in NCEA Level 1 French (or a proven ability to Year 11 level).
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$20 Online vocabulary learning (Education Perfect), $15 Grammar and Translation workbook (used for L1, L2, and L3) if not already acquired.

This course is approved for University Entrance.
Total Credits Available: 19 credits.
